My life has unfolded in two worlds that, to most observers, rarely touch. For more than three decades I have worked in capital markets — investment banking, private equity, and venture capital — helping companies grow, with capital raises, investments, and equity commitments exceeding a billion dollars across upwards of 170 companies. In recent years my attention has turned almost entirely to the technologies now reshaping civilization itself: artificial intelligence, the cloud infrastructure that powers it, and the digital-asset ecosystems converging around them.

The other world, and the more important of the two, has been the world of Scripture — a love I have carried since I was young and a study I have pressed into with particular devotion to the prophetic books and the shape of the end of the age. Through Providence Christian Foundation, Inc. ("PCF"), decades of Christian board service, and the writing of several books before this one, I have tried to take what the Lord has entrusted to me in the first world and pour it into the second — into evangelism, discipleship, education, and the care of those the world too easily overlooks.

“I write in humility, because no man holds the calendar of God; I write in urgency, because the speed of what is coming will not wait for the unprepared.”

Why I Wrote This

I did not set out to write this book. Battle of the Seed was not on my calendar, not in my plans, and frankly not on any reasonable list of another obligation that I should undertake. I have written it because I believe — with a sober conviction I cannot put down — that the Holy Spirit has charged me to sound an alarm.

Standing at the place where my two worlds meet, I see two lines converging with alarming clarity. The acceleration toward artificial superintelligence, the coming neural interface that will marry the human body to that network, and the emerging global system of identification and commerce are, in my reading of the Word, the very contours the prophets described. I have set that case out in full — Scripture alongside the news — in the essay Is AI the Mark of the Beast?

The pressure to accept that mark — clothed in the seductive language of enhancement, convenience, and necessity — will be enormous, and I fear most will surrender without ever understanding what they have given away.

And I write, finally, not in fear but in invitation. Before the world is forced to choose between the Seal of God and the counterfeit seal of the Beast, my prayer for every person who reads these pages is simple: that you would hear the Father’s call, receive the atoning work of Jesus Christ, and enter the Parousia — the communion, the intimacy, and the eternal life with the Creator who is calling His children home.

About the Author

Michael Kendrick

Michael Kendrick has spent his career at the intersection of the two worlds this book is about.

He is the Founder and President of Kendrick Family Office, where he invests in the artificial-intelligence value chain — and the President of PCF, which directs that capital toward evangelism, discipleship, and care for the vulnerable. He reads the earnings calls and the technical papers of the industry he writes about here, and he reads them as a man who has spent forty years in Scripture.

That vantage point is the reason for this book. He is not warning about a technology he does not understand. He is warning about one he has funded, studied, and watched accelerate from the inside.

His path to it began in engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, then designed and tested aircraft systems at Pratt & Whitney before moving into technology business development. In 1991 he founded Kendrick Capital Management, and over three decades in private equity and venture capital he has overseen investments and equity commitments exceeding one billion dollars across more than 170 companies.

His work in ministry has run alongside it the entire way. He founded Ministry Ventures in 1999, which has helped launch more than 100 Christian organizations. In 2012 he and two partners acquired Family Christian Stores, then the largest Christian bookstore chain in America. In 2013 he founded iDisciple, building it into a digital platform carrying content from over 350 ministries. He has served as an elder at North Point Community Church since 1995.

He is the author of Rich Forever (2011), The Fulfillment Factor (2012), and Your Blueprint for Life (Thomas Nelson, 2015).

Michael and his wife Michele have been married since 1986 and have three children. They live in Alpharetta, Georgia. He is an airline transport–rated pilot in both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, with more than 1,500 hours logged.

He writes here not as a theologian by training, but as a lifelong student of Scripture who believes the alarm needs sounding — and who is close enough to the machinery to know why.
