Faithful in the Small Stuff
God is training you for forever — through your everyday.
Michael Kendrick · Scripture: King James Version
READ FIRST Luke 19:11–26 · Luke 16:10–12

Jesus told a story about a nobleman who went away to receive a kingdom (Luke 19). Before he left, he gave each of his servants money to invest while he was gone. When he came back, he called them in to see what they’d done with it.
One servant had turned his money into ten times as much. Listen to the king’s response:
Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. — Luke 19:17 (KJV)
Do you see the trade? Faithful in a very little — authority over ten cities. The reward for faithful work wasn’t a vacation. It was more responsibility. A bigger assignment.
Your Life Is a Training Ground
This is one of the most exciting truths about eternity: your life right now is preparation for your role in God’s kingdom. He’s watching how you handle the “little” things, because He has big things planned.
What Counts as “Little”?
Your time — how you spend the 24 hours you get each day.
Your money — even if it isn’t much yet. Especially if it isn’t much yet.
Your gifts — music, coding, sports, art, leadership, listening.
Your relationships — family, roommates, coworkers, friends.
Your words — what you say, post, and text.
Jesus said if we aren’t faithful with money, God won’t trust us with “the true riches” (Luke 16:11). Your bank account is a test run for eternal responsibility.
Don’t Bury It
In the same story, one servant did nothing. He wrapped his money in a cloth and hid it, because he was afraid (Luke 19:20–21). The lesson isn’t “be perfect.” It’s “don’t bury what God gave you.” Use it. Risk it for Him. Invest it.
The God who gave Adam a garden to tend will give His faithful people real, meaningful work in His kingdom — forever.
