Your Upgrade: A Body That Lasts

No more injuries. No more aging. No more limits. Jesus is the prototype.

Some people think we’ll spend eternity as ghosts — invisible spirits drifting around. But the Bible is clear: you will have a real, physical body forever. Not your current one, with its allergies, breakouts, anxiety, and aching knees. An upgraded one.

Want to know what it’ll be like? Look at Jesus after He rose from the dead. He’s the prototype — “the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). The first of a whole harvest.

What Jesus’ New Body Could Do

When Jesus appeared to His disciples after the resurrection, they thought they were seeing a ghost. Here’s what He told them:

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. — Luke 24:39 (KJV)

Then He ate broiled fish in front of them (Luke 24:42–43). His body could be touched. It was recognizable. It still had the scars. But He could also appear inside a locked room (John 20:19) and rise into the sky (Acts 1:9) — fully physical, and free from every limit that holds us back now.

Four Upgrades

It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. — 1 Corinthians 15:42–44 (KJV)

Your new body will never wear out, never get sick, never age, and never be a source of shame. And “spiritual body” doesn’t mean made of spirit. It means a body fully powered and directed by God’s Spirit — still physical, still you, just the way God always intended. John says it simply: “we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).

Still You

You’ll still be you — personality, memories, relationships — all perfected. The disciples recognized Jesus, and Moses and Elijah were recognizable centuries after they left this earth (Matthew 17:3). You’ll know the people you love, and they’ll know you.

And if your body right now is sick, hurting, or just not what you wish it was — hold on. This one is temporary. Your upgrade is coming.
