In 13 days we’ve seen it: this life is short but not small. God is making a brand-new world. Jesus will reward faithfulness — even the hidden kind. And forever means purpose, a real body, a breathtaking city, and best of all, God’s face.

So what do you do with all of that? Jesus answers in one sentence: invest in forever.

Two Portfolios

Jesus uses investing language on purpose. “Treasures upon earth” are exposed to moth, rust, and thieves (Matthew 6:19). Things break. Markets crash. Phones get stolen. And the day you die, the whole portfolio goes to someone else. Treasure in heaven can’t decay, can’t be stolen, and never crashes.

Five Ways to Invest This Week

Know Him. Read His Word and talk with Him every day — eternal life is knowing God (John 17:3).

Serve someone. A cup of cold water given in His name is never wasted (Matthew 10:42).

Give generously. Giving to God’s work moves treasure into the account that lasts (Matthew 6:20).

Tell someone. The people you help bring to Jesus are your “crown of rejoicing” (1 Thessalonians 2:19).

Work for Him. Whatever you do, “do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23).

Your Forever Starts Now

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2). That doesn’t mean ignoring this life. It means living it with the next one in view — and letting forever shape your Monday.

Remember the dot and the line from Day 1? The dot is short. But it’s yours, and it matters more than you ever imagined. “Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

You were made for forever. Live like it.
